Start with The Masters champions driver Titleist 915?

Active Recoil Channel

The Titleist 915 D2 Driver provides more distance through higher speed and lower spin thanks to the Active Recoil Channel. This wide sole channel delivers more distance by actively flexing at impact to launch the ball off the face with higher speed and lower spin.

Radial Speed Face and a High MOI Design

The high speed face insert with a thick centre and radially thin perimeter in the heel and toe delivers more distance on off-centre hits. Even when you don’t quite find the middle of the clubface, you won’t loose out on distance. The Titleist 915 D2 Driver provides more distance, more often. Reduced thickness up front allows weight to be strategically placed in the back, resulting in a low and deep CG that provides ball speed preserving forgiveness.

Titleist 915 D2 Driver Features:

  • High standard of acoustic engineering provides solid feel and sound
  • Precision fit SureFit Tour hosel
  • 460cc head with Radial speed face for more distance on off centre hits

Precision Fit SureFit Tour Hosel

The Titleist 915 Driver features the SureFit Tour Hosel which provides sixteen unique loft and lie combinations to help improve your ball flight.

What about the world’s #1 player Nike Vapor driver?

Nike Golf Vapor Speed Driver Design

The Nike Golf Vapor Speed Driver blends three key technologies: Nike’s new FlyBeam-reinforced Covert Cavity Back design, a re-engineered Compression Channel and FlexLoft 2. FlyBeams drive frequecny tuned compliance into the compression channel. The new channel enhances the trampoline effect observed on the NexCOR face with a springboard design that accentuates ball speed on hits struck across the entire face. The end result is better sound, feel, consistency and distance. The chassis of the Vapor Speed has also been re-engineered by sloping the crown more from face to the back, and creating a deeper face. This moves the centre of gravity projection toward the centre of the face and significantly reduces spin to launch ratio versus the Covert 2.0.

Nike Golf Vapor Speed Driver Features:

  • High speed covert cavity back design enhances perimeter weighting
  • Low CG position promotes higher launch for longer carry
  • 460cc head size, flyBeam structure, compression channel and NexCOR face stabilise the chassis
  • 1 year guarantee and Mitsubishi Rayon Fubuki Z 50 graphite shaft

FlexLoft 2 Technology

FlexLoft 2 in the Nike Golf Vapor Speed Driver provides the functionality of five lofts and three face angles within 15 different settings to help dial in your ball lfight. The new, improved system is five grams (30 percent) lighter without compromising function. The redistribution of mass creates more stability, better launch conditions and faster swing speeds. Another benefit of FlexLoft 2 is its forward and backward compatibility. Golfers with previous generations of Covert can use shafts with the original adaptor in the new head or vice versa.

Mitsubishi Rayon Fubuki Z 50 Graphite Shaft

The Nike Golf Vapor Speed Driver features a Mitsubishi Rayon Fubuki Z 50 graphite shaft. This excellent shaft provides stability in the mid and butt sections with a tip section that is designed to promote a slightly higher launch, while maintaining the same low spin. The Fubuki Z profile also features progressive torque and a more standard balance point – making it a very versatile shaft designed to fit a wide range of players and abilities.

What about the big Phil’s Callaway driver helped him finish 2nd at The Masters?

R•MOTO Face Technology

Speed is everything, and it’s the driving force behind the new XR driver. That means speed from an aerodynamic crown, speed from a R•MOTO face, speed from maximum shaft load…the list goes on and on. Callaway have traveled down a new path to make a driver that’s a proving ground for these great technologies. If it increases speed, it’s in XR and that’s why it’s their fastest titanium driver ever.

Speed Step Crown

To reduce drag and maximize speed through the swing, Callaway have put in a Speed Step Crown and combined it with an optimised aerodynamic head shape. Everything about this driver is optimised for aero efficiency, which is critical to add speed with less drag.

Callaway Golf XR Driver features:

  • Speed Step Crown & 460cc head size
  • R•MOTO Face Technology
  • Maximum Shaft Load
  • 12 Month Guarantee and Project X LZ Graphite Shaft

R•MOTO Face Technology

This is how Callaway increase ball speeds across the face by reducing 10% of face weight to make it thinner. R•MOTO leads to more energy efficient energy transfer all over the face, allows them to put the CG 17% lower where most golfers want it, and delivers higher MOI.

Maximum Shaft Load

The shaft is a key component to speed, that’s why XR comes stock with the new Project X LZ. It produces maximum shaft load during the downswing loading zone for greater energy transfer to the ball.

OptiFit Adjustability

Choose from 8 different loft and lie configurations to find the perfect launch for your ball flight. When you get the right XR drivers launch conditions, you get more distance.

What about the Bubba’s Ping G30 Driver?

Turbulator Technology

To generate faster clubhead speed and ball velocity for longer drives, turbulators were engineered onto the crown of the 460cc head of the PING G30 Driver. Proven in wind-tunnel testing to reduce aerodynamic drag and create efficient airflow, the added speed from Turbulator Technology provides measurable distance gains for all skill levels. At address, they create a captured appearance with the ball and assist with alignment and inspiration.

Clubhead Design

The PING G30 Drivers’ CG position is the lowest and farthest back of any PING model, ensuring optimal launch conditions and an even higher MOI in both axes for extreme forgiveness and maximum energy transfer. A new high-strength, lightweight T9S titanium face is thinner and hotter to optimise face deflection for faster ball speeds and longer drives.

PING G30 Driver Features:

  • Turbulator technology generates faster clubhead speed and ball velocity
  • New high strength titanium T9S titanium face is thinner and hotter to optimise face defelction
  • Trajectory Tuning+ Technology offers five settings to optimise ball flight
  • 1 Year guarantee and TFC 419D graphite shaft

Trajectory Tuning+ Technology

The adjustable hosel has the same mass and outer diameter as PING’s fixed hosels, providing the benefits of adjustability with no sacrifice in performance. Trajectory Tuning+ Technology offers five settings, allowing you to optimise your ball flight by increasing or reducing loft by 6/10ths of a degree or one full degree, to maximise distance and control. Settings are standard, +0.6°, +1°, -0.6°, and -1°.

PING TFC 419 Graphite Shaft

Another source of power in the PING G30 Driver is the TFC 419D high-balance-point shaft. The CG is closer to the grip end, allowing for a heavier head, which increases the MOI and contributes to the extremely low CG. The result is more energy, momentum and inertia for greater distance with accuracy

Callaway Golf has unveiled what it has described as ‘its fastest family of clubs ever’ with the launch of the XR and XR Pro range of drivers, fairways, irons and hybrids.

Succeeding the company’s extremely popular X2 Hot range, the XR and XR Pro range, which goes on sale on February 20th, brings together a variety of groundbreaking technologies, all of which are designed to generate maximum ball speeds for a complete range of players.

The ‘R’ stands for ‘race inspired’ and the XR driver in particular embodies this concept of speed. Billed as the company’s fastest ever driver, it features a Speed Step crown that reduces the aerodynamic drag over the clubhead during the swing, an ultra-thin RMOTO face, OptiFit loft and lie adjustability, and a Project X LZ shaft. In tests carried out by Callaway, the XR has been shown to produce an average increase of up to 5mph faster ball speeds when tested against a 2012 Callaway driver.

Available in lofts of 9°, 10.5°, 12° and 13.5°, the XR can be adjusted to eight different loft and lie settings to fine tune launch and trajectory conditions.

Callaway XR Driver

Speed is everything, and it’s the driving force behind the new Callaway XR driver. That means speed from an aerodynamic crown, speed from an R•MOTO face, speed from maximum shaft load…the list goes on and on. Callaway have travelled down a new path to make a driver that’s a proving ground for these great technologies. If it increases speed, it’s in XR and that’s why it’s Callaway’s fastest titanium driver ever.

Callaway XR Irons

Callaway XR Irons are the first high speed, cavity back, cup faced irons. improved face cup technology acts like a spring on shots all across the face to increase ball speeds at every impact location. Internal Standing Wave is the ultimate team player. It’s refined the way that Callaway lower CG, increased MOI and gives the face cup the freedom to flex for more ball speed.  An iron built for speed needs a different level of refinement and attention, in this case a 2-piece construction that includes a dual heat treatment. It’s precise, meticulous craftsmanship that the Callaway XR deserves.
